Camp Seymour is a wonderful 5th grade tradition at Sherman Elementary. Camp Seymour, located in Gig Harbor, is owned and operated by the YMCA. Each year the 5th grade students stay three days and two overnights at Camp Seymour during the fall season. Additionally, the students revisit Camp Seymour for two day-camp visits in the spring, where they embrace the end of their school year and celebrate their graduation. Children co-exist with their classmates, teachers and chaperones. This camp is all about unplugging from screen-time and connecting face to face. The kids build independence, explore nature, enjoy active physical outdoor activities, share stories and life lessons and bond with their classmates!
