Carrie loves spending time with her husband D.J. & being mostly a full time mom since having youngest son, Austin in Nov 2017. Although still working on call with what she considers her second family at the pulmonary office, she’s excited to grow her Sherman community family this year as her 2nd year as Co-Vice President. Carries daughter Avery, started 4th grade this year and is looking forward to a great year full of growth spiritually, mentally, & physically!

Dave and wife Jen have twin daughters in fifth grade this year at Sherman. Having relocated two years ago from Austin, Texas, the family is enjoying the cooler weather! In Austin, Dave served as the PTA Treasurer and was a substitute teacher in the girls’ elementary school.

Jenny is in her fifth year as a Sherman parent and her third year on the PTSA Board. Jenny has two children who attend Sherman: Heidi (4th grade) and Sam (1st grade). She enjoys spending time with her husband, Pete, and her kids ... whatever the activity may be. Jenny taught second grade prior to having children and truly enjoys being in the school setting. Jenny is looking forward to thinking 'outside the box' during distance learning this coming school year.

Samara and her husband, Aaron, have been Sherman parents since 2012 when their daughter, Isabella, joined the Sherman family. Isabella is now a seventh grader at Mason and their daughter, Gabby, is in third grade with Ms. Kadow. Samara enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her family. This is Samara's first year as an officer on the PTSA Board and is excited to be a part of the team.

Laura and her husband, Durant, have been active Sherman parents since their son, Donovan, enrolled in kindergarten in 2013.  Donovan is now in 7th grade at Mason this year, while daughter, Evie, is at Sherman in 4th grade.  This is Laura's third year on the PTSA board and she looks forward to being a part of the continuing 'Sherman momentum' towards an enriched, educational experience for all families in our community.

Hello! My name is Celesta Smith.  I am the lucky mom to Rowan (6th grade) and Wyatt (4th grade).  This is my first time serving on the PTSA board.  In previous years I have supported the PTSA as chair of the annual auction and other activities.  Our family loves spending time at the beach, paddle boarding, swimming, and scuba diving.  I enjoy being a part of the Outdoor Learning program at Sherman.  Additionally, over the last four years, I have had the privilege of teaching Mindfulness at Sherman and two other Tacoma Schools.  In this time of change, I look forward to being a part of the PTSA as we support our amazing Sherman community of parents, students, and teachers!

Sara has been a Sherman PTSA member since her oldest daughter Cameron started at Sherman in 2013. Sara currently has 2 kids at Sherman - Lauren is in 3rd grade & Jace is in kindergarten - and Cameron is now in 7th grade at Mason Middle School. Sara has served on the board once before, as a Co-VP in 2017, and she and her husband Jesse are active volunteers. Sara loves helping Sherman families feel a sense of community within the school.

Lindsay and her husband, Andy, have been Sherman parents since 2015. Lindsay has three kids attending Sherman: Caleb (5th grade), Hannah (3rd grade), and Nathan (kindergarten). This is her first year serving as a board member, but she has been an active participant of the PTSA and has helped with social media the last two years. Lindsay enjoys spending time with family, kid activities, and working as a physical therapist.
